CADIA was founded in 2018 with the idea that diverse talent had long been underestimated and underutilized in the automotive industry. CADIA’s founder, Cheryl Thompson, set about providing professional development resources and networks to help diverse individuals position themselves for advancement in the auto-mobility industry.
After a time, it became clear that helping individuals would not be enough to create a more diverse and inclusive industry. CADIA would need to reach senior leaders with the power, influence and resources to impact real change, and to be tapped to work collectively to break down some of the systemic barriers that limit equity in representation, opportunity and access.
In 2019, CADIA adopted a corporate membership model offering tools, solutions and a community to auto-mobility companies in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. CADIA’s mission is to double the number of diverse leaders in automotive by 2030.
Currently CADIA offers a membership model to companies of all sizes, and provides workshops, professional development, and strategic advising services.
CADIA also offers no-cost and low-cost solutions in addition to memberships and paid offerings as part of its commitment to the community, traditionally underrepresented populations, and the idea that everyone deserves a seat, and more importantly a voice, at the table.
